Wrapping It Up

Vas happenin’! This would be a look through of what had happened during the last few days of our business venture – Plaza Mont Kiara, Amcorp Mall and Solaris Dutamas.

Plaza Mont Kiara (Outcome – RM 227)
06/12/2011
There’s a flea market every Thursday. There were lots of offices there. We were targeting on working people. Well.. or adults, you may call it. We changed our “menu” that day. Instead of selling cake pops, we baked cookies and cream puffs (its less complicated). Of course, our rainbow cake too. There were 3 different varieties that day – cookies, cream puffs and rainbow cake. Wow.. Plaza Mont Kiara would have to be the hardest one ever! We faced so many rejections. To be honest, we thought everyone was going to donate. So, we went with A VERY CONFIDENT FEELING that everything will go on well but it didn’t. We weren’t expecting someone would say “no” when we asked whether they would donate money for cancer. Its ridiculous really! We were on the verge of giving up because we have NEVER faced THAT MANY rejections within a day. It was certainly unexpected.  Luckily, one vendor was nice enough to allow us to share her both at the flea market.  We call her “Aunty Queenie”. She sells all sorts of kuih-muih. She’s the nicest person we met during our whole “business venture”. If it wasn’t because of her, we wouldn’t have known what else to do. We still had a couple more cream puffs and cookies. Our goal was to finish it all. So, towards the end we walked around the flea market and it actually worked! All our cream puffs and cookies were eventually sold that day. Surprisingly, we only managed to sell a few pieces of rainbow cake. We were expecting the rainbow cake to be a bestseller. I guess old/working people don’t like rainbow cakes.

Amcorp Mall (Outcome RM410)
10/12/2011
The flea market started from 9am to 6pm. Amcorp Mall would have to be our favorite location. Everyone was supportive. Everything was easy. It was a breeze for us. Alhamdulillah. During this day, we only sold two things - creampuffs and rainbow cake. we decided we keep it simple. There were about 200 creampuffs and 1 rainbow cake (to be on the safe side, we only baked one). We managed to sell EVERYTHING! We were so grateful, glad and happy all at the same time. It was nice knowing that there are actually a number of people that are willing to help.

Solaris Dutamas (Outcome - RM 310)
13/12/2011
This was our last flea market that we went to. It's under the same organisation as Amcorp Mall's and it was free (YAY!). The location wasn't ideal. It was pretty dead. It was also raining cats and dogs, but we had to make a good use of it. It was our final day of selling. We were selling the same thing like what we sold at Amcorp Mall. We had 100 creampuffs and 1 rainbow cake. It wasn't selling well. So, towards the end we decided to split up and walk around the mall and sell everything. Alhamdulillah, we managed. We were satisfied that things went our way although it looked like it wouldn't that day.

So, that was that. Afterwards, some called us and ordered our rainbow cakes and creampuffs. We delivered it to them and managed to collect RM263. We've completed our business venture! Sorry it took us forever to update this blog. I (Sarah) have been away on a holiday with the family since the 16th of December. So, it was hard to get on the computer. But nevertheless, we managed to communicate. Fitrah and Shafiqah updated me about what was happening through text and facebook. It was my job to update this blog and theirs to plan everything while I was away.
